The dreaded "T Time!" Yes, tax time is around the corner, but you can handle all that paperwork with some tips and advice.

Since you'll be organized, begin to set up a successful system for next year's paperwork as well.

Tips for Tax Time

1. Together--Get all of your documents, files, W2's, statements, etc. in one place.

Use file folders to help you organize the mountain of paperwork & documents.

Consider the "Three Folder System."

2. Use a Checklist to get all the documents in order.

3. Check and double check the forms you receive.

4. Tax Records-decide which records to keep.

5. Take your time. As of today, you have 64 days left until the April 15th deadline.

Note: Next year, consider hiring a tax professional. If you are doing your own

taxes, consider "Uncle Sam" himself. Consult www.irs.gov for new tax laws,

Publication 552 of what to keep, or any questions you may have.

Forge the Paper Trail

1. Devise a system for your paperwork.

2. Invest money in a filing cabinet, hanging folders, and manila or colored folders.

3. Consider an accordian file for small receipts.

4. Consider Financial Software Programs (Quickbooks, Turbo Tax, Quicken, etc..)

5. Do not let your files turn into piles.

1. Consider digital or scanning products (I want this gizmo so bad!)

2. Contact management (Another nifty gadget)

3. Desktop Jamproof Shredder (pricey, but it is supposed to be good)
