2. Create a Master List of Gift Recipients.
3. Create Folders for your gift ideas. (Children, Adults, Teachers, Friends, Service
Professionals, Receipts, etc...) Keep all information in ONE place.
4. Decide on a total budget. Also decide on a per person budget. Be realistic. What
special talents can you offer rather than spending money on a gift?
5. Do not break the bank. Do not go into debt over Christmas.
6. If budgeting is a problem, Pay in cash or with your debit card. With credit cards
you do not actually "see" the money spent until the statement comes the next month.
7. Start a new family tradition. (Stay in your pajamas all day, create a family
journal, decorate the tree the day before Christmas).
8. Make a gift (Honestly, I leave this to Martha). But I do but make a batch of cookies
or banana bread loaves to give to neighbors, friends, relatives, or to have "just in
case." Use a pretty basket or ribbon and voila, "insta-gift."
9. De-Clutter before you buy! Make room before the gifts arrive. Give to charities,
food banks, angel trees, adopt-a-programs, etc...
10. Shop Locally. Think consumable gifts (tickets to a sporting event or movie, a
service at the spa--Fellas, this goes over very well with the ladies!).
