GO Month!  (Get Organized!)

Greetings!
Julie Mills, Owner, All Squared Away
Happy New Year!  It is that time of year again.  Have you made those resolutions?

Now is the time to get organized.  In the organizing industry, January is our "big month."  We celebrate GO Month!  As professional organizers, we love to BE organized, help everyone else GET organized, and spread the word about organizing!

What are your New Year's Resolutions?  I bet one of them is to be better organized, right?   We have some great ideas to help you achieve your goals.

We are excited to be hosting several new Winter Workshops.  Please see our schedule, tell a friend, and join us for an evening!

Best Wishes for a Great '08!

Resolutions...

1.  Be Realistic.  Fifteen pounds in one
month?   Not likely.  Break the tasks into
     smaller "chunks" or time frames.

Instead of saying; "I will pay off
my credit cards in one year...
Say; "I will put an extra $100 each paycheck
     towards my credit card debt."

2.  Set a Learning Goal.  What do you have to
LEARN first instead of jumping into the goal
blindly?   Read.  Do some research.  Ask a
     professional for guidance.

3.  Focus on what you are going to do.  What
proactive choices will you make?  Eat fruit
at every meal?  Exercise Mondays and
     Wednesdays?  Be specific.

4.  Do not overload yourself.  Don't take on too
much.  Do not over-do your efforts.

5.  Let yourself fail occasionally.  We all slip.
     Forgive yourself.  Get back up
get back on track, and move forward.
Achieving Your Goals
*The Three P's
1.  Put It On Paper.  Write your goals where
you can see them (calendar, to do list,
     refrigerator, bathroom  mirror--anywhere).
2.  Picture Yourself.  Visualize yourself
attaining your goal.  Use pictures from
     magazines or inspirational quotes.
3.  Pursue the Peak.  Aim for the top.  Find the
hurdles, find a mentor, or a support group.
Don't stop until you "get to the top."

Sticking to It...
1.  Routine.  Make your goal a part of everyday.

2.  Prioritize.  Do not schedule your priorities.   Prioritize your schedule.

3.  Write a to do list.  Cross off your tasks and re-write your list each day.

4.  Just say no.  This one is tough.  Be firm.  Be honest.  Volunteer another time.

5.  Reward Yourself.  Be proud of your accomplishments.  Treat yourself to a movie, a pedicure, a small dessert, etc...
Clean Off Your Desk
TIP: Take 5-10 minutes to reorder, categorize, clean off, and file papers each day.
Clean Out Your Closets
I'll admit, I have my "fat" clothes and my "skinny" clothes.  Stop doing it!

Keep just a few of each and give the rest away.
Not only are they collecting dust, they are probably out of style.

Others NEED them and could be USING them.

My goal:  Get into the "skinny clothes."

My Mantra:
