Green Banking

Many companies are jumping on board with "green" practices and encouraging you to pay your bills online.  This can have many benefits - the environmental savings, as well as saving you time and effort!

1) Eliminates Clutter:  Internet banking rids you of numerous statements and keeps everything nicely stored online.

2) Company Incentives:  Certain companies will give you monetary incentive for going paperless!

3) Saves Time & Effort:  You can set up certain accounts to automatically deduct. This eliminates late payments and having to remember payment due dates.

Overall, online banking is the way of the future and will make our lives much easier and clutter-free!

February also hosts "Pay Your Bills" week, which is a very important part of staying organized.  If everything is neat and organized, it is easier to pay those bills on time and eliminate late fees.

Random Acts of Kindness
February is host to Random Acts of Kindness Month!

This reminds us to do simple things to show others that we care.  It takes very little time and effort to show someone kindness, for example:

  • Say "Bless you!" when someone sneezes
  • Hold the door open for others

  • If you notice someone carrying more than they can hold, assist them
  • Send a (snail mail!) card to a friend or family member that you haven't talked to in awhile

Your acts of kindness may just make someone's day!

Green Organizing

Organizing can be good for our environment too.  Utilize these tips to make your organizing efforts more "green"!

  • Re-Use:  Go through your house and take stock of what you already have - especially before a major organizing session.  A lot of the time, you already have everything necessary to sort and organize the clutter!
  • Recycle: Don't just immediately toss everything -- your trash could be someone else's treasure! The less we throw items in the landfill, the better for our environment.  Donate your things to a local charity or Habitat for Humanity (they often take building/home supplies), or sell them on a site such as Ebay.
  • Buy:  Look for Earth friendly, second hand, or locally-produced organizing products when possible.  When we buy environmentally friendly products, we encourage production of these items and "green" practices.
