Simplify Your Holiday

The holiday season can bring stress along with it, but simplifying your life is key this time of year.  Read below for some basic ways to make your holiday happy, affordable, and light!

1. Consider doing a Gift Exchange: Set a $20 limit and do a

basic exchange -- even make it into a game! This limits

spending and makes gift-giving more fun than obligation.

2. Start Holiday shopping early:  Avoid all of the major

    crowds and slim leftover selections.

3. When Shopping, Bring a LIST:  This seems very simplistic,

but this will help you stay focused and on budget!

4. Volunteer:  Your time or resources this season.  This

gets everyone into the true spirit of the holidays while

     helping others in need.

New Holiday Traditions!

We all love our tried and true holiday traditions, but would you ever consider a new one?

You can always add to the fun of the season!

Cut Your Own Tree:

This can be done with the help of a tree farm or not, but cutting down your own tree

is special, affordable, and adds an element of excitement to your traditional tree.

Make Gifts Together:

Decide on something you love to make (candy, another kind of food, candles, etc.)

and make it as a family or a couple.  This makes a special gift that is fun to create.

Family Photo:

It is hard to get the whole family together, but during the holidays is one of those rare moments.  Celebrate with an annual family photo!

Adopt a Family:

Find a family/child's name from Salvation Army or another charitable organization, and

make it a yearly tradition to give back.

No matter your traditions, have a safe, happy,

and fun holiday season!
